Mind your own business?

I have a very close friend and would like to name him as J in this post to avoid unneccessary issue.

J is a guy who did not complete his study and stop at form 3 which is only PMR standard. He stepped out his first step in working world since 16 y.o(2004).

The only job that he could work is nothing than promoter. So he work as promoter until 2009 which is approximately 5 years. Salary increasement and a chance to get promoted? Ya...The company is very generous enough and have an increase for his salary and get promoted as senior-promoter.

He don't want to work as promoter for the rest of his life. Therefore, he resign.

Lately, he got a job as tele-marketing for loan stuff so called "easy payment plan" from his friend. This plan is to help those people to clear their credit card's debt which all of us know that credit card's interest is bloody hell high. This means borrowing a sum of money from a company to clear bank's debt. "Money cover money". By having a customer to subscribe this plan, he can get RM 300 up to RM 500...The commission seems interesting?

As he is only PMR standard, he can't speak a good english nor malay.

I asked him before...

Me: How do you a get a customer to subsribe this plan?

J: By making phone call lo. We have n number of telephone number in a list. We call and call.

Me: Then most of your customer is chinese? Do you have to speak malay or english when speaking to a malay or indian guy?

J: Ya. Have to speak english and malay. But, I won't speak malay at all coz I really don't how to do. I use Proken(broken) Engrish(english) lo...

Me: I see. Then, how many customer you got until now?

J: Very hard to find customer ler. 1 or 2 only. Can't survive if keep on like this. I'm gonna resign soon...

Me: Huh? you just started and you want to resign so fast. Why your friend can do it, you can't? Try to be patient lo...

J: Don't want la. Very boring ler. And I need a job to pay my car, petrol and other...

Me: Then, okay. u like lo...

Few weeks later, he came to find me to Kampar to play. I brought him to Ipoh. We discussed this issue again...

In the meantime, I offer a job to him which work as manager assistant in a stationary shop in penang. The salary and benefit is very reasonable and good. RM 1500 basic, RM 400 for car petrol, RM 500 for food allowance and house rental, RM 200 for telephone bill, commission (based on the sales). Total RM 2600++...

He rejected the offer as he said his friend (used to be his supervisor when he working as promoter) open a shop and would like to invite him to work as promoter or shop manager. Back to promoter life again. I advised and suggested him...He is way too stubborn. I gave up not later on...

Apart from that, he sometimes has insulted me indirectly. He said he has a lot of experiences in working world. Study so hard and have a good certificate doesn't make any difference...He claims that he has seen many things and been through different kind of situations...Hardworking is the most important. Study is useless, Education is nothing...

I was like...of couse a bit of mad and shock. But, I ignored him as I think he is talking bullshit...

Haiz...What can I do? I offer an job opportunity to him. Himself the one who destroy it...

Sad. I can hardly imagine his future. A dark sight...one...

No matter how hard I talk, I persuade, I advise...

He replied me "Haiz, I don't need to be rich, I just want to enjoy my life...enough money to eat and play"...

I scolded him "Don't you have a goal in your life? Your marriage? Your career? You want to work as promoter for the rest of your life? How long can you survive by working as promoter? 10 years or 15 years?"

He silent and said "I'm who I am...I don't need to be rich..." He repeated...

Well, my friend. I already did what I can do for you. Offering you a better job...
